The Alcoholism Center For Women (ACW) has been a substance abuse treatment facility for over 50 years. Our residential and outpatient treatment programs began in 1974 and was the first program on the West Coast to provide shelter and substance abuse treatment solely for women. Over the years, ACW evolved into a gender responsive trauma-informed, evidence-based, drug and alcohol CARF-accredited, ASAM certified, state-licensed substance abuse facility. ACW has been selected 4 years in a row as one of the best addiction centers in the county! Our 32-bed residential, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, Outpatient Program, Contingency Management, and Enhanced Care Management Programs all provide individualized patient-centered treatment plans. ACW is located in beautiful turn-of-the-century homes that are designated Los Angeles city monuments. Our buildings act as a beacon of hope for the women and the surrounding Pico Union area of Los Angeles.
